Warriors, life is tough! It is almost impossible to pass through life without finding yourself in situations where you need something or someone to comfort you. Business will be slow, you will miss targets, struggle to breakthrough, fail at things and even lose loved ones. The list goes on!   To get through all these, it is always wonderful to have people or things to comfort us in these struggles. In fact, if you don't life is really tough! It is no different when it comes to your life's goal, ambitions and greatness. Most times we make the big decisions to lose weight, work harder, start a new business or relationship and even make an impact on the society but struggle to deliver on these targets. It is in these situations that we are tempted to seek comfort in order to cope. This is what I want us to discuss today. Warriors, there is nothing wrong with seeking comfort but we must watch it before the comfort steals our greatness!   Some might find comfort in alcohol, music, food, books even from other people or organisations but it is crucial to be aware of the limits of this comfort. Knowing when you need it and when you really need to go back to working on your dreams and greatness. If we are not careful, we might find ourselves convinced that our dreams and no longer worth it by people who think differently to us.   In choosing the people and places you run to for comfort, be careful about people or places of comfort that will disconnect you from your greatness but appearing to be kind and caring to you! <blockquote> Greatness demands toughness, no wonder only a few people achieve it. </blockquote>   So Warriors, by all means, seek comfort when things are rough and tough but know the limits. Always review your goals and ambitions daily so you can focus on what matters most to you: your dreams, your ambitions, your impact and your greatness! Remember that it is OK for things to go off tracks sometime and this keeps us awake in the journey and offers us opportunities to learn, grow and go to the next level. <blockquote> In the end, we will not be judged by the number of challenges we faced, but what we managed to achieve despite all the challenges! </blockquote>   Thank you for listening to this week's episode. Now to today's episode which is "The Warrior's Mindset for Adversity" Warriors, Life is tough, no doubt and if you listen to the news every day you hear all sorts of terrible news. From hurricanes in the Philippines and Americas to flooding in India and Nigeria and Ebola and Cholera outbreaks in places in Africa. All these come with lots of destruction of businesses, livelihood and hope! It is hard to wake up and have your home destroyed or a loved one taken away by an illness. It’s hard to lose a job you have had for years to redundancy or even the shutdown of the organisation. The list goes on and these are situations we face in these times. Despite these, we all have our dreams and ambitions to fight for as warriors. Here is the big question; how do we find strength to fight on? Here are my thoughts around it... <h2>Adversity is a Season</h2> It is crucial that we understand that in life there are times and seasons for everything. This bad patch is one of those seasons and will surely pass very soon. It is therefore necessary that we prepare ourselves for these situations even if things are going very well for you today. We must also find time and resources to support people in this difficult season of life! <h2>We are Stronger than Adversity</h2> We are all stronger than we give ourselves credit for. If you can look back, you will find that you have fought and won similar battles in the past. So if you keep hope alive, you will win this one too! <h2>Adversity has Great Benefit</h2>   Adversities are simply tests to qualify us for the next level. You see in life, we easily adapt to our comfort zones but we are created for much more! Life has a way of pushing us out of our comfort zones so we can grow; unfortunately it is usually a painful process. As you know the process of refining any material involves a lot of difficult processes which includes high temperatures and pressure in most cases. It is same with growth; it is always painful! These words by W Clement Stone say it best: Every great man, every successful man, no matter what the field of endeavour, has known the magic that lies in these words: every adversity has the seed of an equivalent or greater benefit. <h2>Adversity Builds Character and Life Skills</h2> Warriors, adversities help us to develop character and important life skills that can only be learnt from experience. Stephen Covey said: Just as we develop our physical muscles through overcoming opposition - such as lifting weights - we develop our character muscles by overcoming challenges and adversity. Think about this and find the lessons from your adversity and arm yourself with the skills to go back and try again. Benjamin Disraeli said: <blockquote> There is no education like adversity. </blockquote> Warriors, I hope this will strengthen you right now and in the future. <h1>110: The Keys to Staying True To Yourself</h1> It’s with great pleasure that I come to you today on this episode on The Keys to Staying True to Yourself. We most times we end up very unhappy and wonder why. Many life events trigger certain changes in us as natural response to those situations. Our sole aim is to protect us from such re-occurrence in the future. The sad part of this dynamic is that, life is full of events that may not be in our favour so we continue to change and make these adjustments until one day we wake up and realise that we have lost our “true self”! Once we lose our true self – the person we were born to be; unhappiness sets in, we lose track and our dreams are derailed. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to see this happening until it has changed us completely because the process is very gradual. It is based on this discovery that The Unchained Warrior Podcast was born. A few years ago, I lost close to $30,000 to a fraudster while trying to help a friend buy a generator for his hotel in Nigeria. I came out of this deal, bruised and therefore made a very firm decision that I was done helping people in any shape or form.   However, I found that I was unhappy doing this as I met people in trouble that I would usually help and let them go without trying to help. This is the danger of losing your true self! I tried to be who I am not because I was hurt instead of seeking other options of staying true to myself. Once I realised this, I spent some time thinking about it. It is in this process that I discovered that I can still continue to help but be careful how I do it to protect myself in the process. That is how I decided to create The Unchained Warrior Podcast, to inspire 1 billion people to live to their full potential.   When I made this decision, the anger dis-appeared and happiness re-appeared. Simply because I am staying and living true to my real self. Warriors, if you or any one you know is at this stage in their life’s journey. I have some tips that will help. This is very crucial to good life, happiness, success and even greatness. This is because: “it is in being your true self that greatness is discovered!” Here are the suggestions on how you can avoid losing your true self: <ul> <li>Discover who you really are and your life’s purpose and impact. If you struggle with this answer these questions: What are my good at? What are my sad about in the world today? Finally, what do most people come to me to help with? The responses to these questions will be your answer.</li> <li>Find safe ways to deliver that to the people around you. Think self first because there has to be “You” before the people you are trying to help.</li> <li>Remove people who do not appreciate you for who you are: These are people who are always disregarding your help and support towards them. To these people, it is your duty to help them and they have no appreciation of the help you offer. Get rid of these people as they will eventually annoy you and make you lose your true self.</li> <li>Also remove people who discourage you from being and living your true self. There are always those people who see you as mad because of your dreams and your personality. Basically people who do not believe in you. Get rid of this group of people. They will eventually destroy your confidence in yourself and your dreams. Unfortunately, if you lose your confidence, you have lost everything.</li> <li>Make time to search yourself: Ask and answer certain questions like are my being my true self? What type of impact are my having on the people around me and the society at wide? Etc. That way, you will keep yourself in check and live true to yourself.</li> </ul> Warriors, the truth is that you will never live happy, achieve success, greatness or have impact on the people around you unless you live true to yourself so it is a duty we all owe ourselves and the society to live true to ourselves.   I am hoping that this will help you as you go through this week and the rest of the year. We were all taught to rank things by; <h3>GOOD, BETTER and BEST</h3> Therefore we have all grown up believing that the "best" is best but today I want to challenge this belief and explore ways that we can use this different way of thinking to move to the next level. If will remember, when learning in schools, the teacher would say; "that's good or other times that's better". However, teachers hardly talk about the "best". This is simply because they know that "better" is the best. Teachers always aim to push the student to keep making progress. <h3>Why do I believe that "better" is better than the best?</h3> ..simply because I know that better creates room for improvement rather than a status of perfection or complacency. This is why I believe that "BETTER" is the "BEST"! No matter how good you are in your work, business, life or relationships; it is critical that you... <blockquote> STRIVE TO GET BETTER! 109: Why "BETTER" is Actually Better than "BEST"

<h1>108: Overcoming the Obstacles to your Success</h1> Warriors, today we look at overcoming the obstacles to your success.. The year is almost ending and I know it is not easy looking back at some of your plans and targets for the year and finding that you are way off your target. First let me assure you that you are not alone in this, there are millions who had plans that were shattered by one thing or the other this year.. Some could not even make it to this time of the year but we are all still here. So lets look at how to overcome the obstacles to your success: <h2>Gratitude:</h2> The crucial first step is gratitude. Gratitude for being alive today and even having a plan. As you have a plan, there are a billion others who are just passing through life without a target or a plan. But you have one. This is something to be grateful! Gratitude for the ability to try and hit those targets although you have not succeeded. Some know exactly how to do this but their health or the health of loved one have failed them. There is need to grateful for the opportunity to try again because: <blockquote> It is in failing and trying again and again that we ultimately find success! </blockquote> Also,  <blockquote> Failure are the building black for massive success. </blockquote> Although it may not look like it but the more you fail, the stronger and wiser you become. This is something to be grateful for as well. <h2>Revisit Your "Why?"</h2> I have put this in the list as it is crucial that you remind yourself of your "why"! These are simply put; the reasons you have set out to achieve these dreams and goals. If your "why" is strong enough then it is very easy to take the knocks and keep going. On the other hand, if it is not worth it then it will be very easy to give up Warriors, this is very crucial to success, it is the driving force behind all successful people because the journey is tough, but with strong "whys", you are toughened and able to keep working at it until it is achieved. <h2>Review Your Actions</h2> Next step is to review your actions. When you set your targets, what actions did you take? Do you remember step by step what effort you put into achieving these targets? This is why I am a fan of daily journals. It is in your journal that you will find these answers. Try to find out where you fell short, what you have done and also what you have not done. Most targets require us to make sacrifices in order to achieve them. How much sacrifice have you made? The bigger the goal the bigger the sacrifice and the bigger the sacrifice, the bigger the outcomes. For success and targets to be achieved, you must also be aware of all the natural forces surrounding your target. These will include the skill and knowledge to achieve these targets, relationships you require to help you achieve these and the other risks around your targets.  It is crucial that you are aware of these things in other to succeed and hit your targets or you will fail again. <h2>Refresh Your Plan and Strategy</h2> Once you have discovered all the factors affecting your success and targets, the next step is to refresh your plan and strategy. Remember what Einstein said: <blockquote> Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. </blockquote> What new steps do you need to take now? What new sacrifices do you need to make? What are the latest discoveries and ideas around your target? What relationships do you need to build and what relationships need to end? Who do you need to speak to to help you? As we are humans, I am 100% sure that there are people moving in the same direction as you. Who are they, where are they? Work on these things. Most plans are unrealistic especially around timing. Take another look and see if the time allocated to tasks are sufficient. See that you have looked at any pre-requisites and allocated time to them, else you will fail again. <h2>Celebrate Little Wins</h2> Finally.. Warriors, your dream is worth all the effort and sacrifice, if it was easy everybody will be doing the same but most people are not interested.  So remember to find time to celebrate little wins and congratulate yourself. It is these little wins that become huge and gives you the momentum to achieve more and hit your big targets in the end. Thank you and best wishes for the new week. 108: Overcoming Obstacles to Your Success

<h1>107: The Danger of a Chain of Distractions</h1> Warriors, thank you for listening to this Episode of the Unchained Warrior Podcast. Today we discuss the danger of a chain of distractions. Feel free to get in touch if you have any questions or suggestions. I was taking a walk the other day and saw this young man that was walking really fast and I thought to myself, surely I can catch up with him because I had longer legs and I like challenging myself! After a few minutes, there was a very nice car that came past and I was distracted and for a few moments, I forgot the target I set for myself. I quickly came back to it and started walking faster and on track to catch up with him then I saw an open space and wondered why the space in such an expensive area is empty.. My thought strayed and I was distracted from my target once more. By the time I got back to it, the guy was almost out of sight! A chain of distractions have cost me my target! Unfortunately, this is the truth of the lives that we all live today.. We set targets, then we get distracted and then again and again and in the end we give up. And we wonder where all the time have gone!   Here is the challenge for this week, Warriors; If you have any target set for the week, please start each day by reviewing the target and commit to it so that despite all the distractions, you can still put your targets first! Ensure all your activities are lined up in such a way that you will not fall victim to a chain of distractions! Ensure you have the best people around you and make them aware of these targets, that way they will help you get back on tract quickly if there is a any distraction. The biggest threat to your dreams and ambitions is a chain of distractions. Your dream is important and we have one life to live so lets remind ourselves again today to stay awake and focused on these dreams and ambitions to avoid distractions. 107: The Danger of a Chain of Distractions Warriors, thank you for listening to this Episode of the Unchained Warrior Podcast. Today we discuss the danger of a chain of distractions. I was taking a walk the other day and saw this young man that was walking really fast and I thought to myself, surely I can catch up with him because I had longer legs and I like challenging myself! After a few minutes, there was a very nice car that came past and I was distracted and for a few moments, I forgot the target I set for myself. I quickly came back to it and started walking faster and on track to catch up with him then I saw an open space and wondered why the space in such an expensive area is empty.. My thought strayed and I was distracted from my target once more. By the time I got back to it, the guy was almost out of sight! A chain of distractions have cost me my target! Unfortunately, this is the truth of the lives that we all live today.. We set targets, then we get distracted and then again and again and in the end we give up. And we wonder where all the time have gone!   Here is the challenge for this week, Warriors; If you have any target set for the week, please start each day by reviewing the target and commit to it so that despite all the distractions, you can still put your targets first! Ensure all your activities are lined up in such a way that you will not fall victim to a chain of distractions! Ensure you have the best people around you and make them aware of these targets, that way they will help you get back on tract quickly if there is a any distraction. The biggest threat to your dreams and ambitions is a chain of distractions. Your dream is important and we have one life to live so lets remind ourselves again today to stay awake and focused on these dreams and ambitions to avoid distractions. <h1>106: Your Location and Your Success - The Truth!</h1> Warriors, warm welcome to this Episode of the Unchained Warrior Podcast. Today we discuss your location and your success - the truth! I hope you enjoyed the last episode titled "Staying on course with your dreams", if you haven't listened to it, go to this <a href= "http://unchainedwarrior.com/105-staying-on-course-with-your-dreams/"> link.</a> Lets talk about location today. I am sure you have heard many people saying that location is everything. Where you set up your business, where you live, where you invest etc. In fact the popular information out there today is that; if you are not in the best location your chances of becoming successful and achieving your dreams is very minimum. Is this true? That is why I want to do this episode today to explore the truth with you. If you really look at successful people in the different areas of life, you will find that although location helps but most of them succeeded despite being at other locations. From Tom Cruise to Jay-Z to Eminem to Celine Dion... The list goes on and on! Please search for the information yourself so you can confirm this for yourself. Why is it that some beat the location myth and succeed while many of us discount ourselves due to their location? I strongly believe that it's about mindset and belief system! The truth is, if we can wake up everyday with our dreams fresh in our minds and the belief that somehow, someday, it will happen, I have no doubt that it will happen for you. But the first step is to ignore the lie that location is "everything"! Wherever you are today, Warriors; your success is possible from that same location.. Look around you, look all over the internet; there are so many people starting one business or the other OR providing a service especially online and just by doing that they have become very successful. In fact most successful people now live in the places that we don't associate with success by choice because it does no longer matter! So Warriors, here is the truth; location helps but it is not everything! Here is the truth, it is your hunger, belief in your dreams and willingness to work hard and make it happen that is actually everything. So think about it today and do something. If you are depressed because you are unable to be in London and Hollywood, stop and activate your hunger, believe that it is possible and commit to hard work to ensure that you succeed! Over to you Warriors, I believe that your success is possible from any location if you will believe me and start doing these things today. It's over to you Warriors..
