She’s the author of two books (Your New Name and No More Faking Fine), a graduate of the Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics, and is currently in seminary. When she's not traveling to speak or teach, she enjoys making a home with her husband and children. As we enter this new decade, I thought it would be fun to talk to a few friends and reflect back on what life was like 10 years ago. In these conversations, you’ll hear guests speak about what God has done in their life, dreams, goals, things they would have differently, and things they’re most proud of. And, looking back always causes me to look forward, so we’ll also chat about dreams for the next ten years! Today, I am talking with "James" (a pseudonym), who shares his last decade which includes an amazing transformation of faith from atheist to being a devoted follower of Jesus. James' last decade found him living at his parents' home where he grew up with his mother secretly sharing the gospel with him for fear of retribution from his Hindu father. In 2010 James considered himself an atheist, and I know you'll be blown away as you hear James speak of how God pursued him, the miracles he witnessed in his mother's life, and the path he's on now as we enter 2020. Your Last Decade #5: "James"

Everyone has a story, and some parts of those stories may feel too hard to tell. You guys, today is the second birthday of my book <a href="https://amzn.to/2u0m9XX" target="_blank" rel="noopener">If You Only Knew</a>, where I go first and tell my story of stepping out of shame and into the freedom of the gospel. For this special "book birthday" episode of The Happy Hour I thought what better way to celebrate than to hear two of my friends, Shawn and Ginger, share their If You Only Knew stories. You'll first hear from Shawn as she opens up about how her secrets of abortion and struggling with alcoholism kept her sick for so long. Shawn describes how it wasn’t until she told her story fully and walked with Jesus through all of it, that she finally began to heal. My friend Ginger then shares her story of struggling with social anxiety. Ginger lost her hearing literally overnight when she was just 4 years old, and over time her hearing loss provoked so much fear and anxiety about social settings. These two interviews are part of a special If You Only Knew: A Mini-Series, where nine women speak about their If You Only Knew stories.
