In the early hours of Thursday morning, we appeared on talkSPORT to offer some insight on the showdown between Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho and Paul Pogba. The station has generously sent over an audio file of the brief segment for Stretty News to share. We just wanted to talk about football and Manchester United, but these headlines are not going away and they shouldn’t go ignored.  But, as situations go, this is getting in the way of what matters most. And, that’s the club. United are struggling for results and there is no doubt that Mourinho and Pogba share some of the blame. Manchester United, Republic of Ireland and Celtic legends pay tribute to fallen hero, Liam Miller, at Pairc Ui Chaoimh. Amid the pain of loss, there were tears of emotional pride as the Miller family marvelled at world football rallying to honour Liam's life. In the autumn sunshine, I travelled to Co. Cork and met local Dj Stevie Grainer, United We Stand editor Andy Mitten and Dublin based photographer Peter O'Doherty. Topics such as the music scene between Cork and Manchester are discussed, with Grainger heavily involved in both after gigging in venues such as the iconic Hacienda. This podcast also includes coverage of the tribute match itself, in honour of Liam Miller, and access to press conferences with Martin O'Neill, John Hartson, Stiliyan Petrov and Roy Keane, Ryan Giggs, David May. Manchester United kick-off their Champions League campaign against Swiss side Young Boys this week. Dale is joined by Paul and Jonathan on this week's Strettycast. Philip featured throughout but was rudely interrupted on a number of occasions by super agent Jorge Mendes, who has it in for our podcast since last season... It would be crazy to write off our chances just yet, although it's unlikely United will go all the way in this season's competition but the least the lads want to see is Jose Mourinho's men give it a shot. Whatever Paul Pogba tells you, in 2018 the pinnacle of football is the UEFA Champions League and even though it looks like it will take some time before we see United lift it again, you've got to start a new campaign with an open mind. This time last season, you would have laughed if I said Liverpool would go on to reach the 2018 final in Kiev... thankfully, that's about it. They had nothing to show for it at full-time. Dale is delighted to be joined by football coach and author Gary Curneen, originally from Northern Ireland but currently working in the United States as assistant manager to the Chicago Red Stars. Curneen is a United fan, who studied Mourinho's management at a Real Madrid coaching event in Los Angeles some years ago. He tells us about the influence Mourinho has had on his career and how he's still one of the very business in football. We also take a look at how football has evolved down the years and how Pep Guardiola has helped reshape football after winning domestic titles with Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Manchester City. Manchester United got back to winning ways with a convincing 2-0 win over Burnley, who are having a disaster season thus far and probably face a relegation fight unless things pick up. Dale is joined this week by Raman and Mike to discuss the game and other matters ahead of the international break. Marouane Fellaini put in a solid display against The Clarets, therefore, deserves praise and Luke Shaw continued his great form to win Manchester United Player of the Month for August. Worryingly, there were few players to compete with Shaw for that reward, as Raman points out Paul Pogba has yet to put in a performance better than our other midfielders this season. He's a World Cup winner now. The go-to guy. It's time he realises that and takes responsibility.  There won't be a podcast next week due to the international break. Manchester United suffered a 3-0 defeat at home to Tottenham Hotspur on Monday night. Dale is joined by Jonathan, Philip and Raman to discuss the game and where it all went wrong.  Credit is given where deserved: Luke Shaw, Jesse Lingard and Fred. But criticism is also handed out to Paul Pogba, who is treating his Manchester United career as if it no longer matters. Well, it does. To us. Manchester United suffered a disappointing 3-2 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday. To make matters worse, only five players acknowledged the fans are travelling all the way to Brighton. The rest of the players, who hid at the full-time whistle, ought to be ashamed of themselves. While they're not entirely to blame, we discuss the root of these problems at Manchester United on the podcast and get A LOT off our chest over the course of an hour. Dale is joined by Raman Paul, Paul Rowles and Mike 'The Northern Loudmouth' Knight. José Mourinho will expect another week of harsh headlines and press, but sometimes he has himself to blame for that. Fans enjoyed some of his interviews about the All Or Nothing documentary, created around Manchester City's title-winning season last season, but it doesn't matter unless his players react on the pitch.
